My Five Minutes Peace Box…

My lovely friend Tara, who makes my rather special Advent Calendar each year, also gives me another gift- the gift of peace.

The first time Tara handed me a box with a label saying ‘Karen’s Five Minutes Peace Box’, I was intrigued. On opening it, I found a treasure of children’s activities, all appropriate for my two girls aged 3 and 9 or for my son, aged 11. Tara has an amazing ability to pick the perfect activities that really are guaranteed to offer me five minutes peace.

This year we received a bag of goodies:

During December, whenever I want five minutes peace, I tell the children to go and choose something from the bag…perfect!

I’ve told Tara she needs to go into business making 5 Minutes Peace Boxes. Honestly, can you think of a better gift to get?

I certainly don’t deserve to get such an amazing present, but my goodness, I am so grateful. This and wine helps get me through the stressful month of December!

So thank you T…This post is for you :)

Tara is a Genius!!! Ok I will have to make one!!! x

  4. I would absolutely love one of these right now for my 2.5 year old daughter. I now have a 4.5 month old bubba as well and juggling the high demands of each, as anybody with two or more sprogs will know, is at best, taxing, and at worst, excrutiating. Are you able to expand on the activities which your three year old gravitates towards and is entertained by for more than a minute at a time? I might create one of these bags for myself.

  5. What a fabulous idea. Love your blog. It’s so sweet.
